Latest Happenings: Christmas and 5 months old

Carlisle's first Christmas was wonderful. We had a great couple of days with our family. Carlisle did not quite know what was going on but he sure enjoyed himself. Carlisle got lots of wonderful, thoughtful gifts and we are very appreciative for everything. I wish I could post pictures of everything, but Blogger is going very slow tonight!

Here is the first picture of him on Christmas morning. He doesn't know what to think!

Opening his stocking with his dad.

Playing in his exersaucer and with his favorite holiday toy- yes, that is a bag of stuffing.

Christmas Eve- Carlisle opening his first present.

Carlisle enjoying watching all the activity involved in making Christmas Eve dinner:
CArlisle's cousin DJ on Christmas eve. I didn't get a good shot of the them together. Sweet DJ, despite his love and loyalty to the Gamecocks, gave Carlisle a Clemson piggy bank for Christmas!
Carlisle opening presents Christmas morning. (please ignore how terrible my hair looks- it was monsooning Christmas morning and I got drenched).

Here are the tiger shoes he got from his Yanni. They are a bit big right now, but he will grow into them.

Carlisle loves the jumper he received for Christmas. He wants to jump all the time now. It is pretty funny to watch him jump. He really just uses his left foot to jump. Its quite a workout for him!

Here are our 5 month pictures with his bear. Please ignore the drool stains- he is drooling constantly right now, as well as putting his entire hand in his mouth. At 5 months, Carlisle loves to play in his exersaucer, his jumper and watch his surroundings. He will roll from his belly to his back (he hates being on his tummy), but not from his back to his belly. He doesn't seem that interested in moving- unless its jumping up and down. Carlisle is still a really good sleeper (thank goodness!) and a really good eater. He loves his rice cereal and eats the entire bowl at dinner. We are getting ready to introduce our first vegetable this weekend. Carlisle also loves grabbing and pulling at all things near him- including mom's jewelry and hair! He will also sit up and can sit up when supported by his hands, although just for a couple of seconds. Carlisle can no longer sit in his bumpo seat unsupervised- he twists his body and tries to get out after about 2 minutes. Here are his pictures:
note the drool/spit up in the next picture. good times.
Carlisle enjoyed a visit from his cousins this past Saturday. He met his second cousin Finley for the first time. She really enjoyed Carlisle's hands!

Latest Happenings

It has been a while since my last post. We've been busy getting ready for Christmas and have been sick, sick, sick. Carlisle had to stay home from school this week, but is now feeling better. Unfortunately, both Vance and I are now sick. Since my last post, we got our Christmas tree, Carlisle tried rice cereal, and we attempted to get some holiday pictures for our Christmas card. In other exciting news, my parents surprised me with an earlier Christmas gift and got me a new camera!!! I am super excited, although I need to read the manual so I know how to work it. Here are some pictures from today with my new camera.

Old Camera pictures:
Here Carlisle is modeling his new favorite outfit- Thanks Aunt Tiffany~

Here we are getting our tree:

Poor Carlise had to sit by the tree on the way home.

Here Carlisle is modeling his Christmas attire.

Here is the video of Carlisle trying rice cereal. The first bite or two went well. Then, as this video shows, Carlisle didn't quite seem to like it.

ok- video won't upload... I'll try later.

4 Month Check Up Stats

Carlisle had his 4 month check-up this morning. Everything looked wonderful.

Here are his official stats:

Height: 26 1/4 inches (85-90 percentile)
Weight: 13 lb 12 oz (25 percentile)
Head Circum: 16 3/4 in (50 percentile)

Additionally, I got the information on feeding him solids! Can't believe we are ready to attempt that. His doctor said some babies are ready right away and others aren't until they are 6 months. We're going to give it a shot with rice cereal this weekend!
