What a week

This week has been "one of those weeks" as they say. Vance and I both had severe stomach bugs at the beginning of the week, and Carlisle had another double ear infection (which meant two trips to the pediatrician) which was causing him to throw up. He may have also had a stomach bug- not real sure. Needless to say, its been a super long, exhausting week. Yesterday, we went to the ENT due to Carlisle's constant ear infections. The ENT kindly explained that Carlisle needed tubes and we could do them in the office right then or we could put him under and have the procedure done. We opted to go ahead with the procedure right then. The ENT then took Carlisle down the hall, we heard screaming for about 5 minutes (although I think this is mostly due to the fact they strapped him down to do the procedure), and then they brought my sweet boy back, who was red and crying. However, after about 10 minutes, he was okay and went right to sleep. When he woke up from his nap, he was a little fussy, but I think its because he is teething, not so much because of his ears. This morning, he was his normal, smiley self. Hopefully, Carlisle will be in the 80-90 percent for which the tubes work and the tubes will end these ear infections.

I will post pictures later- Carlisle is doing great on sitting up!

6 Month Stats

Just got back from our 6 month check up. Here are his stats:

Weight: 16 pounds 10 ounces, which is the 25th percentile

Height: 28 1/4 inches, which is the 95th percentile

Head Circumference: 17 1/2 inches, which is the 70th percentile.

Carlisle looked good and got a good report overall. There was fluid behind his ears- not yet an infection, but something we've got to watch. We might be headed to the ENT if this doesn't get better because we have had so many issues with his ears.

Carlisle still has no teeth. Dr. Trey looked and said they should be coming soon. He is drooling like crazy- I thought for sure we would have seen them by now.

Carlisle handled his shots pretty well. He screamed and then immediately stopped once it was over. He then took his pacifer and passed out. I was very proud of my little guy.

Vance and I invested in a Flip video thing. I will have some video to post, hopefully tonight!

6 months!

Carlisle is six months! We can't really believe it. It has just lown by. We can't believe how much Carlise has changed! Here is a brief list of what he is doing:

-- Eating- Carlisle loves to eat- thankfully, it appears he got his dad's super metabolism. He has been through all the stage 1 foods, and really likes vegetables (except peas) and sort of likes fruit- he like pears. He is okay with applesauce and bananas. He does not enjoy peaches- at all. He hates it more than peas. We have just moved him to where he eats "food" three times a day and he is doing well with it.

-- Carlisle can roll from his stomach to his back, but is reluctant to roll from his back to his stomach. He doesn't like being on his stomach, so that may be part of it. Apparently, at school, he rolls and scoots a lot. At home- not so much.

-- Carlisle is very close to sitting up unassisted, and in fact can do so for a few seconds at a time, but still tips over pretty quickly.

-- Carlisle is pretty talkative. When Carlisle wakes up in the morning he talks and talks and then usually drifts back off to sleep.

--Carlisle is a good sleeper, usually sleeping from 7:30/8:00 pm to 7 am. The last two nights, though he has woken up which is strange- I think he is teething. He currently has no teeth- but with all the drool and this night waking, I expect to see a tooth any day now.

-- Carlisle still has very little hair. okay, like no hair. whatever.

-- Carlisle puts about anything within his reach in his mouth. If the toy isn't in his mouth, he is banging or waiving it around.

-- Carlisle loves to smile and laughs when you laugh. He loves to be tickled and loves for mom to get real close to his face so that her hair surrounds him. He thinks that is hysterical. He likes to watch Raleigh, kick his legs, play in his exercauser and LOVES to jump in his jumpy. He could jump in it for an hour if we'd let him. What he doesn't like- being on his stomach, having his nose suctioned and hates the sun in his eyes. He also now loves a camera. I pull out my camera and he immediately starts to smile. It is pretty cute.

Carlisle is a true joy. We are so very lucky! His 6 month check up is not until next week, so I will update with his official stats then. I feel as though he has gotten really heavy, so I expect a large weight gain. :)

Here are his 6 month photos:

A visit from Nana and Papa

Carlisle had a wonderful visit with his great grandparents, Nana and Papa. I hate Nana and Papa live so far away. It was great seeing them! Here are a couple of pictures:

Busy Weekend

Here are some pictures from the weekend. We went and visited friends in Greenville, and their precious daughter Allene just adored Carlisle- and he adored her. We had a blast catching up, and Allene and Carlisle had lots of fun playing. We got back today and celebrated Aunt Tiffany's birthday. I tried to get a good picture of DJ and Carlisle, but Carlisle was in his jumper and would not stop jumping- even if DJ was under the jumper!

Just a couple of pictures...

Things have been crazy busy at the Livingston household. We had a fabulous new year and enjoyed some much needed downtime. Carlisle spent lots of time with his buddy Henry- see http://anoekan.blogspot.com/. Carlisle has started trying some stage 1 foods- squash, sweet potatoes, and peas. He loves the first two, HATES the peas. The look on his face when we tried them was priceless (of course, I didn't have my camera ready). Carlisle is doing really well at school and his latest "trick" is to scoot and roll at school. He doesn't seem that interested in moving at the house, but apparently at school he moves all over the place. Here are the latest pictures:

Carlisle is in an outfit his cousin (Shell Shell as Carlisle calls her) sent him for Christmas. It is still a little big, but Carlisle loves it- you can see how relaxed he is!

Carlisle eagerly waiting for his sweet potatoes! I love these overalls on him.
