First Clemson Game

Carlisle went to his first Clemson game on Saturday to see the Tigers play Boston College. We had not taken him to a game before in part because we just were not sure how he would do- plus Clemson is a bit of a drive from Columbia. I decided that this would be a good Saturday to take him. Carlisle's good friends Henry and Ward were also going, and I knew the boys would be fine if they were together. Carlisle did a great job at the game and had a blast. He loved seeing the players run down the field, loved the band and really liked cheering his tigers on. We got in the stadium about 30 minutes prior to kick off. Our seats are directly in the sun which made it HOT, but Carlisle did a good job, especially after he got some dip n dots for a snack. However, after about the first quarter, Carlisle was ready to head back to the tailgate to run around and sit in the shade. Thanks to the Kaneft family for driving Carlisle and I up to the game and helping me watch him. Vance had to work, so it was just Carlisle and I. Carlisle missed his dad (and his uncle Josh), and we wished he could have come. Here are some pictures (keep in mind it is almost impossible to photograph him nowadays because he will NOT sit still or look at the camera):

Carlisle's 2nd Birthday

This post is very late, as Carlisle's birthday was over a month ago. However, since I use this blog as his baby book, I wanted to make sure to post about his 2nd birthday. First his stat's from his check up: Weight: 26.2 lbs (25th percentile); Height: 34 inches (50th percentile). He got a good report at the doctor's office and the pediatrician predicted him to be 5'10-6 feet tall once he is all grown up.

On Carlisle's birthday, we visited Edventure Museum. Carlisle loved it. For dinner, we took him to his favorite restaurant- Casa Linda. Here are some pictures from the day:

Upon entering the museum, he couldn't get over all the things to look at/play with:

Driving the VW bug:

Picking peaches:

Riding on the tractor:

Grocery shopping at the mini-grocery store:

His favorite activity, looking at x-rays (I had to drag him away from this activity):

Playing Operation:

For Carlisle's birthday gift from us, he got a motorized golf cart. He is still not the best driver, but he loves it:

To finish off the day, he got his favorite treat- ice cream!

Carlisle's Birthday Party

This is a late post, but definitely wanted to get these pictures up. We had a small party for Carlisle to celebrate his 2nd birthday. We had planned to do it outside and set up a blow up pool with slide and a tent. About 3 minutes before his party was set to start, the heavens opened up and rained us out. We moved the party inside. While it was chaotic, I know Carlisle had a great time playing with his friends. Here are some pictures:

Waiting for everyone to arrive:

Time for cake. Carlisle thought it would be fun to try and touch the candles instead of blowing them out:

Forgot to get a picture of the cake until I was about 1/2 way through cutting it. It was an owl that matched his invitation:

Shot of the food table:

Opening presents:

One of his favorite toys was a band in a box- all the kids loved the instruments:

After the party, Carlisle had a good time playing with the balloons in his pjs:

Zoo Trip

We finally got a zoo membership and it is fantastic. The Riverbanks Zoo is only about 10 mintues from our house, and Carlisle loves it. We have been going on Saturday mornings, right when the zoo opens. It is not too hot and there isn't a crowd. Our membership gives us a wrist band that allows Carlisle to ride the merry go round, feed the lorikeets, feed the giraffe, ride the train, ride the pony, 3D movies, and climb the rock wall- all for free! Carlisle's favorite thing to do is ride the merry go round. His favorite animals are the monkeys, giraffes and the flamingos. Here are some pictures from a trip a couple of weeks ago.
