Baby Pictures!!!

We just had our 34 week check up today. Everything looked good, Baby Carlisle is just precious as you can see in these pictures. His growth looked good and he is now in the 23 percentile for size. The ultrasound was cut short because I passed out during the middle of it... yes, passed out. Apparently, Carlisle pressed on my vena cava (a major blood vessel) which caused reduced blood flow to the brain. I just felt super sick all of a sudden and then was out. I came to not knowing where I was or why I was soaking wet with sweat, and surrounded by the doctor and nurses. A little scary but feeling fine now. Totally worth it to see his sweet face.

Here is one where he is rubbing one of his eyes.

He is running out of room- his little face is pressed up against me.

34 Weeks- Trip to the Beach and Vance's Birthday

First, Happy Birthday to my wonderful Hubby who is 33 today!!!
Vance and I spent a couple of days at Surfside Beach for some much needed rest and relaxation. It is very weird to think that it was our last trip before Baby Carlisle arrives. We had a wonderful time and I hate that it is back to work (and reality) tomorrow.

I am still feeling pretty good, although the heat is terrible and I am slowing down a good bit.

We have our 34 week check-up this week and another ultrasound. I am very excited to see Baby Carlisle! He is very active and kicks me constantly. I should have more to post after our appointment on Wednesday.

I realized that I had not posted a belly shot in a while, so here is one taken today.

Latest Happenings- 31 Week Check Up, Liz's Wedding, etc.

On Thursday, I had my 31 week check up and another ultrasound. The doctor was slightly concerned from the last ultrasound about baby Carlisle being a bit too little, so they did another ultrasound on Thursday. Baby Carlisle looked good, although is still small- 17th percentile for size. The Doctors said this is in the normal range, and that it is not too surprising since Vance and I "are small people". This was an improvement because he was in the 8th percentile at the last ultrasound. I go back in two weeks for another check up and they will do another ultrasound in 4 weeks to check on his size again. At least we know I will not be having a 10 lb baby (probably not even an 8 lb baby).

On Friday, we headed to Charleston for Liz's wedding. Liz and I have been friends since college and we were looking forward to celebrating with her. The weekend was fabulous and the wedding (and especially Liz) were gorgeous. I was a bridesmaid and had a defective zipper on my bridesmaid dress which broke on Thursday night while I was trying it on. After an emergency visit to the seamstress on Friday, I had a zipper that functioned, although the seamstress said the zipper was likely to break again. To avoid a possible incident walking down the aisle or at the reception, I opted to be sewn into my dress. One of the other bridesmaids zippers did break right before the ceremony, so she was sewn into her dress as well. It was very project runway. I am happy to report, that it worked wonders and there were no wardrobe malfunctions. It was great to see lots of old friends from college. Although in saying goodbye to everyone after the reception, we realized that the next time I saw many of my friends, baby Carlisle would be here, and Vance and I would parents. Very exciting and a bit overwhelming at the same time!

I am posting some pictures from the rehearsal party and wedding. (you can see how much my belly has grown since my last "belly shot" picture).

Glucose Test Passed!

Great news. I passed my 3 hour glucose test, so I do not have to worry about gestational diabetes! I knew it was that darn bite of krispy kreme donut!

28 Week Check Up

I went for my 28- week check up this Wednesday and had an ultrasound. I've tried to scan in the ultrasound pictures, but only a couple turned out, which I've attached below. We confirmed he is definitely a BOY (I'd been having dreams my earlier ultrasound was wrong) and that he is very healthy. He is still measuring about a week behind my calendar due date. Therefore, due date is definitely moved to August 2, 2009 from July 26, 2009. I also had my glucose test (which is used to test for gestational diabetes) which I failed. Awesome. This means I have to take the longer 3 hour test and fast before hand (fasting really isn't my "thing" so I should be in a great mood for the test). I do that on Wednesday 5/13 so wish me luck. I think the reason I failed is because I forgot about the test and took a bite of a krispy kreme donut about 2 hours before the test. As soon as I swallowed that first delicious bite, I remembered the test... and I promptly threw out the donut (which was no fun, as I heart a krispy kreme donut).
My belly is getting bigger by the minute. Other than that, feeling great.

His sweet arm/hand. Its taken by the 4D machine, so that is why it is so clear.

Hard to see, but this one is of his face- his head is pressed up agasint my belly.

Definitely a BOY!

Baby Shower

Today was my Baby Shower thrown by Alle, Meredith, Caison, Emily, Dara, and Michelle. It was such a nice party and I appreciate everyone for coming and celebrating Baby Carlisle! It was great to see everyone. Thank you to the hostesses for such a wonderful party! Here are a couple of pictures. (I am not known as one to be good about taking pictures. I totally forgot to take any until towards the end. Thus, I only have a few pictures to share right now. Luckily, I have several friends who are GREAT about taking pictures!)

Alle, Meredith, Me, Caison, Emily, and Dara. Thanks again girls!

Here is my mom, me, my Nana, and Johnnie (my mother-in-law).

The Wofford girls... Liz, me, Walker, and Elizabeth. Thanks for making the drive to Cola to come and celebrate.

Sarah and me. Sarah is expecting too, but she hasn't started to show yet. She has lots to look forward to!

The car... it was packed with lots of goodies. Vance and I have lots to learn. It is a bit overwhelming that Baby Carlisle has so much "gear."

Thanks again to all for sharing this special day with me!!!
