Week 10

It has been a busy week and its only Thursday! Carlisle had a playdate/visit at Alle and Henry's with a visit from Mandy and Laura on Tuesday, a visit with his grandparents on Wednesday, and today we went to the zoo with his cousin DJ and his friend Henry. Here are some of the pictures:

How Carlisle spent most of his time at the zoo... asleep. :)

Carlisle finally awake. He seemed to enjoy the aquarium.

And this is what happens when you are making bottles, get distracted, and shake one bottle without making sure the top is screwed on tightly. Awesome. Formula went everywhere!

2 Month Check Up

Carlisle's 2 month check up was last Thursday. His stats were as follows:
weight- 11 lbs (25th percentile)
height- 23 1/4 inches (50-75 th percentile)
head circumference- 15 3/4 inches (50 percentile).

Overall, he was very healthy and given a good report. He handled his immunizations shots very well too! Here are some of the latest pictures!

These pictures were taken on 9.27.09- his actual 2 month birthday (compare them to my post in August when he was a month old. He has really grown!):

the triple chin. got to love it. :)

This one just makes me laugh. Carlisle loves to wave his hands in the air.

there appears to be 4 chins in this picture.

Here are just some random pictures from the last week or so:

2 Months Old!!!

Carlisle turned 2 months old on Sunday. Carlisle and I have been at the beach with my parents, thus I have not had a chance to post. We have been having a great time. The weather has been gorgeous, but with all the sun, Carlisle has had to stay indoors. He does enjoy listening to the ocean from the balcony. He also likes to stare at the blinds.

At 2 months old, Carlisle still loves playing on his play mat and looking at blinking lights. He also enjoys sitting in his bouncy seat and watching all the action. His favorite thing of all though is EATING. When he is hungry, he lets you know it! It is a battle keeping him from gulping his bottle down (which we have to do b/c of his tummy trouble).
We go to the doctor tomorrow for his 2 month check up. I can't wait to see his new stats. I am sure he has gained a LOT of weight. He feels heavier and heavier by the day. His appetite has also increased dramatically, so I am sure he has been going through a growth spurt. I am not looking forward to Carlisle getting his shots. Hopefully, he will do okay.

I will post tomorrow after we get back from the doctors.

8 Weeks Old!!!

It is hard for me to believe that Carlisle is 8 weeks old today. He is changing so much. His reflux is getting better with the medicine, thank goodness. We still have some "episodes" as I call them, but for the most part, the meds have it under control. Carlisle is more and more active each day. He loves playing on his activity mat and gets really excited at toys which have blinking lights. He smiles lots these days, which I love. He also loves his bath and his swing. Carlisle made his first overnight trip last week. We went to my parents house for the night and he did great. Traveling with an 8 week old is definitely exhausting though. I can't believe how much I had to pack for one night!

Here are some of the latest pictures:

He loves his hands.

Asleep in his swing. Note the scratch on his nose- his nails were a bit too long.

Smiles

Carlisle has started smiling more and more. It is hard to snap a picture as he is a bit camera shy. The pictures attached were taken with my Blackberry so they aren't the best quality. Carlisle's reflux is still a bit of an issue, but he is doing much better. We have had to elevate the crib to try and help with the reflux while he sleeps. I am not sure if it is the elevation of the crib, but Carlisle no longer wants to sleep in his crib. I am torn between really trying to force him to sleep in the crib, or just letting him sleep in his swing for the time being.

Carlisle also likes to "dance" on his activity mat. I have a video clip, but will have to attach it later. His favorite songs include- "Be Somebody" by Kings of Leon, "Why I Am" by Dave Matthews, and "Please don't leave me" by Pink. (Okay, so maybe they are my favorite songs right now... )

Acid Reflux Saga

Well, Carlisle has been having a rough week. He has been having severe pain about an hour after he eats. It has been going on for a while, but getting worse with each day. We had tried several different things, and nothing seemed to help. He doesn't spit up, so we weren't sure what the problem was. It hurt to watch him scream out in pain. He also couldn't really sleep because he would have these painful episodes throughout the night. After many calls to the doctor, a trip to the doctor, a trip to have an upper GI at the children's hospital, it is clear that Carlisle has severe acid reflux. I hate that news, but I am glad we know what is causing him pain. We have a course of action to try and help, and I have my fingers crossed that it will work.

In other news, Carlisle gave me a huge smile today. It was awesome.

Soy Joy, Baby Fist Pumps, Small Smiles and other happenings.

Our 5th week is going okay. Carlisle was switched to Soy Formula on Friday by his pediatrician due to his horrific digestive issues. The first couple of days on the formula went smoothly, but we've started having issues again. I hope we can get it resolved quickly as I hate seeing him in pain! He is moving around/kicking and "talking" more and more each day. He LOVES to eat (like his dad). We have to slow him down to help with his digestion, and he does not like it when we take the bottle away to burp him and prevent him from gulping the bottle down. He is also just beginning to smile. Carlisle has also been out on two lunch dates (he sleeps) and has had a playdate with his friend Henry. He spent lots of time with his GiGi and Papa Don (my mom and dad) this past weekend. Yesterday he spent the day with his Yanni (Vance's mom). All in all, it has been busy since my last post. Here are some of latest pictures:

A photo from his "photo shoot" with Alle and Henry.

Here he is in his new onesie from his cousins. I think it is just precious.

Every time Carlisle stretches, he does what I call, the baby fist pump. I also like to say GO TIGERS when he does it too.

Another Baby Fist Pump.

Here he is after a bath.
